X. Internet/Computer Agreement and Policy

Purposefully accessing pornographic sites in PROHIBITED. Failure to comply with this policy may result in the loss of your computer privileges.

There is a 30 minute time limit on computer use, unless there is no one waiting for a computer. If there is someone waiting, you will get your full 30 min., according to the check out time on the automated system. The person that has been on the longest, will be the first asked to vacate their computer. If you have gone over your 30 min. already, you will be give 3-5 min. to conclude what you are doing.

The Internet is an unregulated medium and allows access to information which may be inaccurate, out of date, inappropriate for children, offensive, disturbing and/or illegal. The Agency Public Library CANNOT control nor MONITOR internet resources, the sites that patrons may access on purpose or unintentionally. Patrons MUST accept responsibility for determining the accuracy, appropriateness for their age and reliability of information found.

Patrons are expected to respect copyright laws, licensing agreements and follow the general rule of internet conduct.

Misuse or abuse of the Internet/Computer Policy may result in suspension of internet/computer access privileges.

The Agency Public Library assumes NO responsibility or liability for information retrieved from the internet.

If you have overdue books/materials your computer use privilege may be suspended until book/materials are returned.

All patrons will be asked to sign a sheet saying they have read and understand the Agency Public Library’s Internet/Computer Policy and agree to follow the rules of such. Children under the age of 14 will need a parent/guardian’s signature along with the child’s stating that they have read and understand the Agency Public Library’s Internet/Computer Policy and that have explained it to their child/ward and agree to follow the rules of such policy.

No food or drink(unless it has a lid and is left on the floor) is allowed in the computer lab area.
